How to Film Interviews During the COVID-19 Pandemic

With so many events on hold and our normal way of doing business changed this year due to COVID-19, we have been finding ways to help our customers keep moving forward. One way we are doing this is through our virtual conferences and galas, online corporate events, award ceremonies, and post-production videos.

In the normal world at events, and for videos like these, interviews are the key to really make the event or video stand out. We have a few ways of safely capturing the interviews to be used in live events and post-production video to keep from losing the personal engagement, information, and emotion the interviews provide.

Some examples of what we have been doing for our customers include:

Remote interviews

Using our production system and the interviewee’s phone/laptop/tablet we can capture an interview from anywhere.

Outside on location

We bring our equipment to them and safely record the interview outside at a location of their selection or inside their facility when proper ventilation and physical distancing can be maintained.

In our studio

We’ve created a ventilation system in the studio to move air around to create a safer environment for interviews. We also have a station available with masks, hand sanitizer and we clean all equipment between interviews. In addition to these options and precautions, our team wears our masks during the interviews and maintains a safe distance.

We’ve found we can do interviews safely and still produce informational and compelling content. We would encourage anyone who feels like they can’t move forward to get the content they need to pivot and reconsider ways to accomplish their projects while remaining safe.
